Based on the current data of this study we cannot ascertain whether this was actually due to playing ice hockey prior to playing baseball; however, it is interesting to note that the proportion of left-handed batters appears to be higher not only in Canada, but also in US states where hockey participation is higher (differences approached significance with a small to medium ES [ p = .08, Cramer’s V = .08, p = .08]).
