However, the hemodynamic instability may be clinically irrelevant because the postoperative outcomes were comparable between the two groups, while patients in the DEX group showed a trend of more favorable incidence of ICU stay and fewer postoperative medical complications possibly because of attenuated ischemia-reperfusion injury.
