Interestingly, comparing those who changed their family income trajectories between birth and early adulthood, the group of young adults who lived their first years of life in a poor environment, but whose families improved their economic conditions sometime after their childhood, showed a trend for a lower prevalence of mental disorders, compared to the group whose families were better-off in the first years of life, but then became poor in recent years.
