In this study, 57.5% of isolates were positive for the CzIE (defined by the authors of the study as a 4-fold or greater increase in cefazolin MIC at high inoculum), and although there was a trend toward increased treatment failures in CzIE-positive isolates (48% vs 25%), this did not reach statistical significance [ 27 ].
