Considering the diagnostic criteria of HbA 1c (>6.5%) and FPG (>7.0 mmol/L), eight persons converted from prediabetes to T2DM (ctT2DM), seven remained prediabetic with a clear trend towards diabetes (DPD, HbA 1c fold change: 1.10–1.21, FPG fold change: 0.93–1.59), and the glycemic status of five individuals remained stable or improved (PD, Figure 4 A,B) within the 4 years observation period.
