Data from the Hokkaido COPD cohort showed that COPD patients with two or more asthma-like features (including a baseline blood eosinophil count ≥300 cells/μL) had significantly lower 10-year all-cause mortality ( p = 0.020) than other patients, but baseline eosinophilia alone did not reach statistical significance for all-cause mortality [ 20 ].
