We found that marriage was associated with a better adjusted HR than any other marital status in all four regions (all P < 0.05; in some of the comparisons, P < 0.001), although in the North Central region, married patients have only a weakly significant advantage over divorced/separated and widowed patients ( P = 0.017 or 0.016, respectively) (Figure 5 , Table 10 ).
