When we summated the duration on all three types of physical activity for each participant, compared to spending less than 0.5 hours/week on physical activity, spending 5 or more hours/week was associated with increased risk of TKR (HR 1.10, 95% CI 0.96–1.26), while spending intermediate duration of 0.5-<2 hours/week was associated with reduced risk (HR 0.88, 95% CI 0.73–1.05), However, we noted that both risk estimates did not reach statistical significance in the fully adjusted model (Model 3) ( Table 2 ).
