In the present study, although the numerical change in soy intake appeared small, the consumption of soy foods was significantly decreased at both 18-month and 36-month follow-ups; this could potentially be a negative trend given that some epidemiology studies indicated that postdiagnosis soy food intake appears to be protective in breast cancer patients. 32 – 35 Follow-up studies would be required to address the impact of such changes.
