Compared with the routine work-up, the extensive work-up showed a trend of an increase in the percentage of patients diagnosed with the correct underlying condition of anaemia from 49.6% (95% CI: 44.8% to 54.5%) to 56.0% (95% CI: 51.2% to 60.8%), i.e. +6.4% (95% CI: −0.6% to 13.1%).
