More specifically, in a small retrospective analysis, the level of full adherence to PCSK9 inhibitors was found to be higher than statins (79.4% vs 30.9%, respectively), although the difference did not reach statistical significance due to the small number of subjects. 23 In another small study, which examined the real-world effectiveness and safety of PCSK9 inhibitors (evolocumab and alirocumab), the LDL-C reductions obtained with PCSK9 inhibitors in clinical practice were found to be similar to those described in clinical trials (50%–70%).
