An open-label uncontrolled trial including 27 patients with T2D and NAFLD treated with liraglutide 0.9 mg/day for 24 weeks showed a trend toward increases in liver-to-spleen attenuation ratio assessed by CT scan and, more importantly, a significant improvement in histological inflammatory scores in 10 subjects undergoing liver biopsies after a prolonged treatment of 96 weeks ( 64 ).
