The Diuretic Optimization Strategies Evaluation (DOSE) trial showed a trend toward greater improvement in patients’ symptom when using a high-dose diuretic strategy in the first 72 h of hospitalization than when using a low-dose strategy; however, a significantly higher incidence of creatinine level increases was also observed in the high-dose group ( 2 ).
