Compared with the patients with gout with a cDDD <28 for xanthine oxidase inhibitors, cDDDs of 28–90, 91–180 and >180 were associated with adjusted ORs for TJR of 1.06 (95% CI 0.83, 1.34), 1.02 (0.70, 1.50) and 1.25 (0.83, 1.88) in the Taiwan cohort and 1.09 (0.83, 1.42), 0.93 (0.68, 1.27) and 1.08 (0.94, 1.24) in the UK cohort, but these estimates did not reach statistical significance.
