Even though a weakly significant difference between multiple sclerosis cases and controls was observed in the overall meta-analysis under the allele and dominant models, no significant association between ICAM1 rs5498 and multiple sclerosis risk was detected in other inheritance models (homozygote, heterozygote, recessive, and carrier) of the overall meta-analysis and in neither of the inheritance models used in subgroup analyses.
