Although high BMI, history of stroke, hypertension, and diabetes are known risk factors for cognitive impairment (Cukierman et al., 2005 ; Elias et al., 2003 ; Patel et al., 2002 ), these associations did not reach statistical significance in our study, possibly because of its relatively limited sample size.
