We found one nominally significant association between maltreatment and levels of an inflammatory marker in the MDD case group, whereby, childhood maltreatment was associated with a reduction in circulating levels of serum amyloid A in adulthood ( F (1, 143) = 4.837, P = 0.029, variance explained, 3.3%).
