The gonadal and subcutaneous fat pads of the PON2-def mice were significantly larger as compared to those of the WT mice ( p < 0.05 for both fat pads, data not shown), whereas the mesenteric and retroperitoneal fat pads of the PON2-def mice showed a trend of increased weights ( p = 0.06 and p = 0.08, respectively, data not shown) as compared to those of the WT mice.
