Living in a nursing home or other extended care facility residence at the time of admission, presence of urosepsis, history of urinary tract instrumentation, prior stroke, history of diabetes mellitus type 1 or 2, or other immunocompromising condition at the time of admission did not reach statistical significance, although these were more frequently present in cases than controls.
