This functional improvement, however, was not accompanied by statistically smaller scar sizes (Table 1 ) when the three groups were compared, despite a clear trend towards smaller infarct sizes in the 50 M group at 10 weeks (5.9% ± 4.1% versus 8.7% ± 5.2% in the 25 M group and 8.3% ± 2.8% in CON).
