Corresponding to our univariate results, neither vmPFC nor dmPFC activity detectably encoded the value of the chosen option (all p>0.2 for both ROIs, permutation test), and classifiers trained using dmPFC activity were consistently able to decode relative subjective value more accurately when directly compared, with the exception of a strong trend for Other trials in the intertemporal choice task ( Figure 4—figure supplement 2 ; Other trials intertemporal p=0.064, all other p<0.05, Wilcoxon signed rank test).
