In the present study, tests were performed in two overlapping d G ranges, 2 or 3 and 3 or 4, so that the general lack of a negative trend suggests possible corrections in the estimation of geodesic distances are less likely to change the conclusion (see S1 and S2 Tables, remember d G was set small (see Results )).
