Blood group AB also showed a trend towards improved 90-day survival in the subgroup (n=3399) of patients who underwent surgery during their hospital admission ( figure 3 ) (blood group AB 83.89, 95% CI 79.64 to 88.14 with the overall estimate 78.26, 95% CI 77.32 to 79.20), however this benefit was not statistically significant (log-rank χ 2 5.537, p=0.136).
