Wheat germ agglutinin-stained sections showed cardiomyocyte hypertrophy after shunt, and the cardiomyocytes minimal fiber diameter increased to a greater extent in WT (≈17%) than in δ-KO (≈9%) hearts, but the difference between shunt groups did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.57, Fig. 4c ).
