Although people who were living in areas colonised prior to 2009 or recently colonised (between 2010 and 2012) had higher anti-SGE IgG levels compared with those who were living in areas not yet colonised ( + 71% and + 29% for the median value, respectively), the difference did not reach statistical significance ( P = 0.07 and P = 0.14, respectively), reflecting heterogeneities among individual responses ( Fig. 2b ).
