Based on subgroup analyses, we found that the association of PBX3 hypermethylation with a better OS was significant only among colon cancer, UICC stage III cancer, male, or normal weight patients, whereas the effect estimates did not reach statistical significance among rectal cancer, stage I + II and IV cancer, female, and overweight or obese patients.
