In the acidic conditions, i.e., upto pH 7.0, the ratiometric change was quite significant but in the alkaline physiological range (7.0 to 8.0), the sensor protein seems to be comparatively stable as the change in pH in this range triggers minimal variation in the emission intensity ratio (Fig. 3b ).
