Subjects in the lowest PON-1 protein adjusted lactonase activity quartile (<4.47 pmol/min/ng) showed similar trends (hazard ratio 1.71, 95% CI 1.03 to 2.85, p = 0.04; Table S3 ); however, after adjusting for traditional risk factors and medication this did not reach statistical significance (hazard ratio 1.51, 95% CI 0.89 to 2.55, p = 0.13; Table S3 ).
