Children of mothers treated with metformin during pregnancy tended to be heavier than children of mothers treated with insulin during pregnancy, but this difference did not reach statistical significance (mean difference 1.13 kg, 95% CI −0.19 to 2.45, I 2 = 20%, p = 0.09) ( Fig 13 ).
