Among predictors that had a significant effect or made a high contribution to a single category of endemism (concerning only paleo- and mixed-endemism), we found that the distance from the nearest continental area made a high contribution to paleo-endemism (but its effect was not significant) and that longitude and mean annual temperature had slightly significant positive effects.
