Several studies have failed to demonstrate an increased risk of infective complications with anti-integrin therapy[ 43 , 44 ], although one study demonstrated a strong trend towards more frequent intra-abdominal abscesses and mucocutaneous separation in pouch patients treated with vedolizumab compared with anti-TNFα agents[ 45 ].
