Results Contrary to what we had expected, only three SNPs out of a total of 60 markers under study showed nominally significant association with the average winter temperatures at the locations of the studied populations by any two types of analysis (the results of tests carried out using default/recommended parameters are shown in Table 1; for full results, see Supplementary Tables 5 and 6 ).
