Sub-analysis of individuals with normal fasting glucose (fasting glucose level < 5.6 mmol/l, n = 270) and of individuals with pre-diabetes (fasting glucose level ≥ 5.6 mmol/l, n = 567) did not reach statistical significance and there was no significant difference between the groups.
