4 Discussion In this study, we found that there was a clear trend of increasing use of antihypertensive drugs over a 5-year period (2009–2014) in Beijing, China, particularly among users aged from 12 to 18 years. β-receptor blockers, thiazide diuretics, and ACEIs, were the most commonly prescribed antihypertensive drugs between 2009 and 2014.
