The sentences

There was no significant difference between the study group in terms of glycemic and lipid indices including FBS, HbA1c, serum insulin, HOMA-IR, QUICKI, triglycerides, LDL-C, and HDL-C, despite a significant reduction in HbA1c and elevation of total cholesterol in the saffron group ( Table 5 ). Although hs-CRP ( p =0.016), TAC ( p =0.03), and MDA ( p <0.001) were significantly decreased in the saffron group compared with baseline, these changes did not reach statistical significance compared to placebo.
