There were no significant differences between the genders in terms of the optimized week-8 total scores ( p = 0.876) or in terms of total score improvement at week 8 compared to baseline ( p = 0.097), but the level of improvement showed a trend favoring boys—a trend related to the original difference between the genders in the hyperactive/impulsivity subscale scores.
