In addition to assessing statin-induced improvements in AA outcome after surgery, Randall et al [ 10 ] analyzed the impact of statins and antiplatelet therapy in patients who received AAA repair, elective carotid endarterectomy, carotid stenting, and suprainguinal and infrainguinal bypass from 2005 to 2012 in New England and found that patients who used antiplatelet and statin therapy preoperatively showed a trend towards lower 30-day mortality (odds ratio, 0.75; 95% CI, 0.5–1.05; P = .09).
