The minimum number of mutated RHLD subjects to achieve a nominally significant P value (ie, less than .05) was 5, that is, if a gene would be mutated in five out of the 33 RHLD subjects and none of the 34 controls, that gene would show a nominally significant P value of association with RHLD, as a putative major‐genetic effect ( P value = .0267).
