The pooled mean difference in absolute change in values following intervention did not reach statistical significance and, therefore, did not favour dietetic or comparator groups for TC (pooled mean difference −0.12 with 95% CI [−0.30, 0.05], P = 0.16), HDL (pooled mean difference −0.01 with 95% CI [−0.06, 0.05], P = 0.54) and LDL (pooled mean difference −0.04 with 95% CI [−0.16, 0.08], P = 0.54).
