Pairwise comparisons showed that mothers who had 6–10 nutrient inadequacies had lower gestational weight gain at 26 to 29 weeks than did those with ≤5 nutrient inadequacies (mean difference = − 1.05 kg, 95% CI: − 2.63, 0.53; p = 0.192), although this difference did not reach statistical significance.
