Although CEC and CDCH were negatively correlated with HbA1c in patients with CAD as well as patients with CKD ( Table 6 ), only CDCH in subjects with CAD was negatively correlated with high-sensitivity C-reactive protein ( r = –0.25, P = 0.0065) and this correlation did not reach statistical significance in patients with CKD ( r = 0.23, P = 0.12).
