The adjusted models stratified by sex demonstrated a protective association between dietary creatine intake and depression risk among females (adjusted OR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.40–0.98, p = 0.04) and although the adjusted odds ratio is below one, the relationship failed to reach statistical significance among males (adjusted OR = 0.72, 95% CI: 0.49–1.05, p = 0.08).
