During these treatments, the mean Campylobacter numbers for (-)-α-pinene alone (4.37 log 10 CFU/g) tended to be lower than that of the DMSO control (5.05 log 10 CFU/g); however, there was wide variability within each of these treatment groups, so these data did not reach statistical significance ( Fig 2 ).
