Taking rhinovirus as the sole source of infections, the incidence was significantly lower in the prebiotic group (RR, 0.31; 95% CI, 0.14-0.66; P = .003) and the probiotic group (RR, 0.49; 95% CI, 0.24-1.00; P = .051) when compared with the placebo group, whereas the difference between the 2 intervention groups did not reach statistical significance (RR, 0.6; 95% CI, 0.3-1.5; P = .280).
