As stroke in large extracranial pathology accounts for a fairly significant proportion of all strokes, and the results of current and previous studies highlight the significant impact of carotid artery pathology on platelet reactivity relationships with worse clinical conditions and prognoses, we recommend routinely determining platelet reactivity and detecting aspirin resistance, especially in cases of recurrent ischemic events.
