Discussion Our results suggest that the presence of tourist on beaches may have an impact on the communities of microscopic animals: a negative correlation between the number of meiofaunal ZOTUs and the number of tourists on beaches could be seen for the swash (slightly significant) and the shallow level (even if not significant).
