Interestingly, there was a tendency of less inflammatory lesions in the Nrf2 +/+ animals treated with quercetin compared to the control group (2.8 ± 0.7 versus 1.9 ± 0.8) although due to the high variation in individual scoring this difference did not reach statistical significance ( p = 0.06).
