The lack of a clear trend could indicate that the triplet energy transfer from the QD to ligand does not proceed directly but is rather mediated by an intermediate, rate-determining step as observed for pentacene ligands. 26 , 27 However, an indirect mechanism was not suggested by Kroupa et al . in the PbS-TET-CA system they studied. 25 However, we note that their ps-TA data indicate a quick ground state recovery of the QDs and a slower triplet feature growth, as also observed by us ( Figures S4e and S8 ).
