Multiple stepwise linear regression revealed an association between BDNF SNP rs6265 genotype and susceptibility to CLBP that approached significance ( F change =3.908, r 2 change =0.042, P change =0.052) but, when BDNF expression was added to the model, we found no additional significant association between BDNF expression and susceptibility to CLBP above and beyond the relationship with BDNF genotype.
