Duration of the hospitalization showed a trend to be longer among patients with a history of asthma compared with those without this history in those aged 50 to 64 years (mean, 10.64 ± 7.38 vs 8.11 ± 5.26 in patients with asthma vs patients without asthma; P = .07), but not in the younger or older age groups ( Table I ).
